The Hangar Theatre Lab Company Acting program was created to provide emerging actors a supportive and challenging artistic environment within which they can expand their experience and abilities as an actor.  Designed for advanced students and early–career professionals, the mission of the program is to provide intensive acting training and performance in a repertory environment; the actors work with directors from the
Drama League Directors Project and emerging professionals in preparation for a career in acting.

The Hangar Theatre Lab Company provides Actors:

Three stage roles in a variety of styles of production
One role guaranteed in the Wedge season
One role guaranteed in a children’s play
Large and small roles
At least one significant role
At least one minor role
Opportunity to perform in assistant directing projects and side projects
Master classes in acting, collaboration, voice and speech, movement, playwriting and professional skills; taught by Mainstage artists and Drama League directors
EMC points (9 points for the summer) toward future membership in Actors Equity Association

Get the Straight Talk: Most summer programs “get your feet wet” in many different disciplines: technical theatre, performance, house management, etc.  The Lab Company takes a wholly different approach.  ACT ALL DAY!  EVERY DAY! Read More >>
