Straight Talk about the Acting Program: Most summer programs “get your feet wet” in many different disciplines: technical theatre, performance, house management, etc. The Lab Company takes a wholly different approach. ACT ALL DAY! EVERY DAY! The Lab will have you acting from 9am to 11pm in classes, rehearsals and performances. This is no “second” company. Actors are guaranteed four stage roles in 10 weeks. One significant role, one small role, and the other two are left up to the directors’ discretion. This rule is in place to ensure fairness in casting for the company. Roles come from KIDDSTUFF and the Wedge seasons. Actors are also eligible to be cast in a school tour production: a paid, non-Equity children’s tour, and for reserved roles on the Mainstage (these are good roles! Lab actors have played Phoebe and Silvius in As You Like It and Cassandra and Achilles in Bloodline). Back
